Mikayla's story

Today we flew our paper planes and my plane went gliding like a real plane! My plane went fast. It went higher and higher and higher and Ahana's plane won. It went so,so,so,so,so fast!

Today we flew our aeroplanes. They were fast and cool. They went high in the sky. They went far. My one was upside down. Some were fast. Some were slow. My one did loop the loop. Some were thrust into the sky. My one was crooked.

We have been writing instructional writing. We wrote instructions about how to make a paper plane. Then we made them and tested them out. Here are some photos.

Assembly

Room 18 and 17 are having their assembly in week 10.  One of the songs they will be performing is the Simple Machine song.  The words will be coming home in their poetry book,  here is the link to the song.  Could you please practise this song with your children.

We went out to the field to do Roly Polys.  We had a lot of fun then we wrote about our experience.

Term 2

Welcome back to term 2.  This term in Inquiry we are looking at functions.  We will be looking at simple machines.  In strand maths we are looking at orientation eg the language of position.  Above, below, on, in, middle etc.  Swimming is now finished and we will be exploring Dance with an instructor.
